BMX Bandits
BMX Bandits was an Australian film made in 1982-3 and released in Australian Cinemas in December 1983. There wouldn't have been too many BMXers that didn't see this film back in the early 80's. Starring Nicole Kidman in her first role, the movie would go on to reach cult status around the world, with various remasters and re-releases on VHS, DVD and Blu-Ray formats. Of interest to the Australian BMX community is that the stunts were performed by Craig White, and Diamond Back Factory Team Pro riders Jim O'Neill and Robert Moreton. Bikes and equipment for the movie were supplied by Diamond Back distributor, Technicomps. The stunt riders were paid $1000 each per week to work on the movie - not bad money for those days.
